INTRODUCTION OF OLYMPIC GAMES IN LANDON 2012



Upcoming Olympic games are going to be held in Landon,that is a big event of the year in the world.Here  is short but brief introduction to Olympic in Landon. Fortunately Landon is first city of the Europe that is going to  host the Olympic 3rd time.firstly in 1908 , secondly in 1948 and now in 2012.The Olympic games are held after every 4 years governed by IOC.The headquarters of the IOC are in Lausanne, Switzerland. 

From all over the world million of people will travel see this magnificent event of the world.Although   it is a big deal for Landon city management yet all preparation already being don.Landon city, hotels, airline services,parks and grounds are specially adorned  for the coming athletes and spectators.

This mega event will be start from 27 July to 12 August in Landon.How many athletes,countries, sports,spectators and journalists will participate in this season of Olympic 2012.

The Official Flag of  Olympic games 2012


The Olympic flag was first introduced in 1914 by Pierre de Coubertin. This flag five interconnected rings having white background. The interlinking of the rings show the friendship of the five main continents of world Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania. The five rings have five different colors that are blue, yellow, black, green, and red. Firstly the flag hoisted in Olympic 1920.

Torch or Flame of Olympic games 2012

This is a sign of Olympic games. This torch or flame was also lighted up in the ancient Olympic games. It was lit from the starting of games till the end of the games. It is also represent endeavor for protection and struggle for victory. The Olympic flame is lighted up months before from the start of Olympic ceremony at Greece and it remain till the end of the games. The flame also symbolizes passing tradition of the Olympic games to the nation.

Motto of Olympic games 2012


Citius, Altius, Fortius

These Latin words describe the motto of the Olympic games. Listed on the first flag of the IOC, which means "Faster, Higher, Stronger". This figure in sports history, close to Coubertin, pronounced the Latin phrase March 7, 1891 in Arcueil, on the occasion of his closing speech of the first championship of the "Association of School Athletic Albert the -Great. "Coubertin, whose attention was taken by this award, adopted it to make the Olympic motto This motto is listed in Rule 14 of the Olympic Charter.



 Creed of Olympic games

"The important thing is not to win but to participate" Widely known, this sentence is part of the same approach as the Olympic motto. Without minimizing the victory, it nevertheless gives a privileged to experience gained through participation in events such as the Olympics.

Pierre de Coubertin took over and adopted this creed as Olympic Creed after hearing the sermon of the Bishop of Pennsylvania, Ethelbert Talbot, at the London Olympics in 1908. The exact content of the sermon was "The important thing in these Olympiads is not so much winning as there participate".
